Peanut butter seems to become regular part of menu of people who pay special attention to right nutrition. The nutrition, which is a basic element next to programmed physical activity. Without the appropriate energetic and building substrates, we do not have possibility to do intensive work (training) and to regenerate muscle damages right after (muscular restitution process). Due to inclusion of the particular macroelements of the Peanut Butter Sport Plus, it may constitute ideal source of carbohydrates in pre-workout meal, as an additive for wholegrain bread, pasta or cakes with oat-flakes and banana*. On the other hand, after intensive workout, it is necessary to pay special attention to supply of the wholesome aminoacids, which constitute building material for repairing damages on muscle protein level (microdamages) and provision of appropriate carbohydrates, thanks to whom the regeneration will be possible. Peanut Butter Sport Plus – few important facts, which will answer the question why to choose this, and not any other peanut butter available on the market in a simple way. By meeting high expectations of sportspeople, whose scientific inquisitiveness leads through the most advanced methods in searching for solely perfect solutions, for whom quality is determining the success, we introduce the most sophisticated product. By aiming to achieve the most optimal composition and even better proportions of the right proteins, fats and carbohydrates, we started a search for equally adequate knowledge. We investigated the core of Peanut Butter Sport Plus, the peanuts. We do not need to introduce them, every one of us remembers well their taste and the addiction, which is equally proportional to emptying a bowl with them. It is not about the peanuts covered with appropriate, or rather inappropriate, cover of salt, flavour enhancers or crispy coating. It is about those which quality translates into their very rich, as it turns out, composition. Not everyone knows about all their ingredients, and the benefits of consuming them are equally proportional to body’s saturation by their particular ingredients, when the product becomes an element of our daily diet.

I’ll start from very important, proven positive effect of peanuts on brain tissue, cerebral circulation and increase of cognitive abilities. Why from that point? Because the secret of advanced scientific research was no longer a secret, but a portion of important and well understood data, which is so important to achieve the before mentioned success, which we all search for. The most recent scientific data from University of South Australia, “hot off the press”, because it is dated June 2016, indicates that in group of subjects who regularly have peanuts in their diet – in statistically significant way, meaning having important influence, neuronal outflow (neurons – cells of brain tissue), shortens the time of passing the information between the neurons (just like finding suddenly a byway, while being in traffic jam and during rush hour, which is a completely empty road to your destination), the pressure in brain arteries increases, which causes provision of appropriate quantity of oxygen and nutrients for the brain, and that – simplifying our road to the goal – translates to increase of durability and lets say it colloquially “volume” of short memory, meaning “RAM”, for the ones who is more computerized – increase of our personal RAM occurs. Everything happens as a matter of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), which contents in peanuts is even around 40% [1,2].

These acids, except for the healing influence on thinking and remembering, have their significant place in life of each physically active person. For sure you have experienced mistakenly so called “soreness”, which is accurately named delayed onset muscle soreness. What to do in order to decrease these effects? As it turned out in the research conducted in long runners, who were subjected to 30 min. eccentric exercise treadmill (angle of inclination – 16°, meaning running downhill), supplemented with polyunsaturated fatty acids, not only the experienced discomfort was smaller, but also the damage of structural proteins were significantly smaller on muscle cell level. The markers for such damages are among others following enzymes: creatinine kinase (CK) and D-lactate dehydrogenase. The laboratory test for their blood concentration show lower values after supplementing with PUFA compared to values recorded before supplementation (Figure 1) and no significant differences (Figure 2) in people with placebo (the same looking capsules with rapeseed oil). These outcomes can indicate only protective effect of PUFA on myocytes (muscle cells) during intense physical exercise.

As an injury prophylaxis and an improvement of regeneration processes, various rejuvenating and nutrition methods can be applied. However, taking into consideration opinions of many scientists which verify the fact that PUFAs, that are in Peanut Butter Sport Plus, have invaluable influence on stopping inflammatory processes in muscles that are one of factors of delayed muscle soreness, it is worth to include them in diet [3].

Speaking of muscles, the same nuts contain appx. 26% of protein with significant amount of arginine. The arginine stimulates increase of muscle mass and significantly improves muscles resistance and efficiency, also through complicated biochemical cell reactions (for the ones interested in – associated with ammonia and serotonin) [4].

To underpin and add scientific sublimity in the topic, one more example of research on rats. In the animals supplemented with L-arginine, the level of CK enzyme in blood was lower, and exertional regeneration was much more intense [5]. Hurray!

And it’s not all yet…

Peanut Butter Sport Plus contains also variety of vitamins – among others E, B1, B2, B6), which precise description and elaboration we’ll skip – so extensive text could be indigestible – in lieu of focusing on one of them, which seems to be so important from active person point of view- vitamin B3, meaning PP (also called niacin). Why it? Because it co-participates  in synthesis and decomposition of carbohydrates (energy during the training), fatty acids (energy during the training and effect of reduction of gathered  fat reserves in subcutaneous tissue) and amino acids. It takes part in creation of red blood cells (they transport oxygen), limits toxic effect of chemical compounds and drugs (who of us does not takes them nowadays), regulates level of cholesterol in blood and extends blood vessels, positively influences the nerve system and physical condition, improves blood flow and the appearance of the skin, as well as positively influences hair and nail condition [6,7]. So let’s think about the elements as well: potassium, phosphor, magnesium – as an example. The first one is important for muscle contractility, not only for the skeletal type ones. The phosphorus group also takes a part of cells energy processes (e.g. ATP- main medium and source of energy), cells communication (e.g. cAMP – signalization in the ‘center of the center’ of a cell) and keeping genetic information as well as protein synthesis (DNA and RNA). From our muscles point of view, magnesium improves muscoskeletal coordination, meaning it moves us from regular train to express one J. In addition to that, in our fast running world it is essential for right functioning of the nervous system, because of it’s anti-stress qualities, there exist also scientific premises which indicate that deficiency of magnesium in the diet may lead to depression [8].

I am writing this text in November. November seems to be made of Mondays from all over the year. It is the most depressing month. However we know a secret weapon. Yes. The Peanut Butter Sport Plus.

The Peanut Butter Sport Plus contains shelled hemp. Just like the above described nuts, they contain up to 44% of the polyunsaturated fatty acids with ideal proportion of acids omega-6 nd omega-3 (3:1) and inclusion of 10 amino acids, which makes them perfect source of protein (25% of hemp’s mass). Hemp seeds are also great source of vitamin E, which is an antioxidant, iron, calcium which is so important from muscles molecular  level of contractions, zinc, phosphor and magnesium. Lets stop here by the vitamin E and its impact on the anti-free radicals effects. Each physical effort is some kind of stress for the body. The stress, not only defined by increase of anxiety, but also oxidative stress associated with excessive production of free radicals, which even tough increase its effectiveness of the exercise, they  unfortunately they also escalate the symptoms of fatigue (which de facto sometimes raises the level of anxiety, especially when the finish line is already in sight, and we have less and less power). In addition, the free radicals damage lipids of cell membranes, including the ones of the muscle type ones, also they damage our DNA [9]. On the other hand, when our body is sufficiently saturated with vitamin E, we own additional warriors to fight pests – which are free radicals. It means that not only we have army at home – The Peanut Butter Sport Plus, but also by eating it we allow our soldiers protect our frontiers.

Many scientific researches confirm the fact that eating sufficient amount of vitamin E, helps to reduce level of free radicals. Statistically significantly! Maybe a bit overdrawn, but precise  example: in rats supplemented with vitamin E the physical exercise in water (stress level – expert) inducted lower intensity of destructive changes associated with free radicals, compared to animals without supplementation [10].

In order to diffuse stressful situation, it may be added that shelled hemp lower the fraction of the ‘bad cholesterol’ (LDL), which act as anti-inflammatory and detoxicating agents. They support the process of utilisation of metabolic products and they eliminate stress. Destressed?

And in the end, the last but not least important ingredient – lecithin. It is indispensable for each cell of the body, especially for the cells of the nervous system [11].

As the research suggests, it improves concentration, not only during the exercises, but also except from them, e.g. at work or during filling out lottery coupons J. It improves memory, slows down the aging processes, and by streamlining the microcirculation indirectly has influence on increase of aerobic capacity (it is the capacity important for prolonged effort [13]

In addition, the lecithin is a natural source of choline with high biologic activity, which has an influence on improvement of metabolism  of cholesterol in body. It improves it’s solubility and removal from tissues. The research shows that the lecithin lowers the level of cholesterol and triglycerides, significantly increasing the good cholesterol (HDL)[12]. Speaking more understandably, how the lecithin operates positively influences the decrease of risk of developing atherosclerosis and hart- vessel diseases associated with it [14]. These diseases are our genetical load and they are one of the civilisation diseases.

Choline insufficiency in food may lead to cumulation of lipids in liver. In addition, lecithin, gentlemen – sharpen your hearing, has effective positive influence on decrease of men sexual disorders, by lowering prostate gland overgrowth. It has also positive effect on lifespan of the semen [15]. Weeeeeeell, men are likely convinced now …

Quite a long discussion. So now, long story short.

In order to:

    • to build muscles and to reduce the gathered fat tissue
